Despite all the care we take to guarantee security on our platform and reliability in the offers, some people with bad intentions can try to scam you during your searches.
Who can alert me?
If you are faced with the following situations, be wary of:
Your representative asking you for a security deposit sent by postal money order, even before visiting the accommodation.
🚨 This is a scam: The money will be debited and you will never visit said accommodation.
Your representative asking you for money to reserve the accommodation.
🚨 This is a scam: The money will be debited and you will never visit said accommodation.
Your representative asking you to pay them a sum of money to put your application at the top of the pile.
🚨 This is a scam: You have no assurance of obtaining the accommodation.
Your representative asking to put the lease agreement in the name of the guarantor.
🚨 This will consequently pose you problems: you will not be able to claim APL.
Your representative asking you for forbidden documents like an ID photo, a bank account statement, etc.
🚨 This is forbidden: This is confidential information that the landlord/landlady must not have access to.
Your representative asking you to put an amount to one side to ensure the payment of future rent and to give them proof of this.
🚨 This is forbidden: The property owner has no right to ask you to freeze funds and even less of a right to supply them with this confidential bank information.
What should I do if I am faced with a suspicious advert?
If you have any doubt viewing an advert which seems fraudulent to you, highlight this by clicking on “Report this advert” to the right of your screen. We will then look at this, and if necessary, we will remove the advert.
What should I do if I am a victim of a scam?
If you are a victim of a scam, retain all evidence of the fraud (emails, screen print of adverts, text messages, etc.). Report the matter to the police, and contact us to report the scam by email to contact@studapart.com

Never pay any money before signing the lease agreement
Be wary of rent that is a lot lower than the market level
Be wary of photos that do not relate to the place
Be wary of the aggressive or overpowering tone of your representative
Be wary of adverts with errors in French (even if this is not necessarily a scam, it is a common denominator for fraud)
If you have any doubt, stop any conversations immediately
Choose to pay by cheque or by bank transfer
