What do I pay to make a reservation?
Updated over a week ago

Regardless of the type of lessor with whom you book your accommodation (private owner, student residence or real estate professional), you are required to pay the Studapart booking fees when booking online.

If your landlord includes the Studapart Guarantee to its booking proposal, you will be asked to pay it at this step.

> If your landlord is a private owner

If you are renting from a private owner, the payment of the 1st month's rent on the platform when booking online is compulsory. For the following months, you will be asked to pay your rent directly to your landlord. Psst... The owners are private individuals. As such, they cannot charge you any additional fees.

In summary, the booking fees for accommodation with a private landlord are :

  • Studapart booking fees

  • The 1st month's rent

  • The Studapart Guarantee (optional)

> If your landlord is a student residence

If you rent your accommodation in a student residence, additional fees apply in most cases: the residences apply their usual booking fees when they make their accommodation available for rent on Studapart.

In order to secure the online booking, the payment of the deposit is also done at the time of booking.

In summary, the reservation fees for a student residence are :

  • Studapart booking fees

  • Student residence application fees

  • The security deposit

  • The Studapart guarantee (optional)

> What are the Studapart booking fees?

Studapart applies booking fees. These fees contribute to the functioning of our platform.

They allow us to bring you the guarantees of an efficient and serene rental: reliability of the ads, security of the transactions and availability of our teams to accompany you at any moment of your rental, and to be able to intervene to bring solutions in case of a hard blow (unhealthy accommodation, last minute cancellation...).

It is thanks to these fees that Kevin, Ines and Laura can better accompany you throughout your rental period.

> What is the difference between the booking fees and the security deposit?

The security deposit is a sum of money paid to the lessor when the rental contract is signed. If everything goes well, this amount is returned to the tenant at the end of the rental. It is not mandatory but in practice it is almost systematically required by the renters.

The purpose of the security deposit is to reassure the owner of the accommodation.

Indeed, he has the right not to return the deposit in case of problems during the rental. These disputes can be of various nature. For example :

  • a degradation of the accommodation on the part of the tenant

  • a lack of maintenance of the furniture or equipment

  • a significant delay in the payment of rent or charges

  • unpaid rent

More generally, the landlord reserves the right to keep part or all of the security deposit. The security deposit therefore acts as a security for the lessor.
