What is a landlord?
Updated over a week ago

it is a person or a corporation who rents out a property. It can be:

  • A private owner

It could be a member of your family, a neighbor or a friend: in short, anyone. The private landlord has a property in which he does not live. He therefore wishes to find a tenant to benefit from an income paid by the tenant in the form of rent. He takes care of the management of his property himself.

  • From a private residence

The residences are an actor of the private rental park. They are often more expensive than the CROUS public residences. However, they offer a wide range of additional services to improve the life of the tenant, often a student. These establishments offer gyms, laundry facilities, snack and baguette machines, etc. They are managed by a private organization.

  • From a real estate agency

Real estate agencies are intermediaries between the individual owner and the prospective tenants. Landlords delegate the rental management of their property to an estate agency.

During his search for an apartment, the tenant therefore talks to the estate agency and not directly to the private owner.
