An RIB (document outlining bank details) is a paper document containing your bank details. It enables you to give your bank details to various bodies to receive payments into your account or to pay bills. The information contained in an RIB (document outlining bank details) is:  - the name and address of the accountholder. - 23 characters: the bank code (5 figures), the sort code (5 figures), the account number (11 figures or letters), the “RIB key” (2 figures between 01 and 97). - the name of the bank, the branch and the city. - the IBAN (for International Bank Account Number) code. - the BIC (for Bank Identifier Code).

Giving your bank details (RIB) enables you to receive money, in any case, it can enable a third party to debit money from your account.
